Overlooking beautiful Frederick Henry Bay & Ralph’s Bay is Bishop’s Vineyard. Owner Phil Bishop planted the first vines of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir in 1999.
The small boutique vineyard situated at Southern end of the Meehan Range, and within the precinct of the Coal River Valley benefits greatly from the maritime climate and cooling breezes from nearby Frederick Henry & Ralph’s Bay, assisting with the slow ripening process necessary for premium cool climate wines.
The hand-tendered grapes are crafted by renowned Winemaking team at Tasmanian Vintners.
The vineyard is located on the fringes of the coal river valley wine region within close proximity with Frederick Henry Bay & Ralph’s Bay. The cooling summer sea breezes ensure slow ripening enabling cool climate flavorsome wine.
Our grapes are traditionally fully ripened in early autumn, once picked the grapes a transported to contract wine maker Tasmanian Vintners where their experienced wine makers produce our high quality award winning wines.
Our specific location and soil combine together with the north easterly aspect & micro climate to produce slow ripening low cropping grapes to enhance the wine flavours.
